Transformer aggregates are combinations of variable transformer and transformer with fixed transformation ratio and are manufactured according to VDE 0552 and VDE 0570/EN 61558. They serve for the adaptation of electrical values, like voltage and current.

Circuit variations:
- additional exciting circuit:
by means of an additional excitation transformer an inphase or de-phased voltage is added to an existing voltage
- economy circuit:
variable transformer and subsequently added transformer as autotransformers, no separation of potential between primary voltage supply and consumer
- galvanical separation between input and output:
variable transformer in economy circuit and the galvanical separation in the subsequently added transformer
- connections in opposition:
special circuit with galvanically separated windings
- phase changer:
fixed or variable phase relationship between input voltage and output voltage
- number of phases:
single-phase or three-phase circuits; however, special circuits with different numbers of phases are also possible.

Possibilities of application:
- test fields:
for the adaptation of supply voltages to foreign
mains voltages
- production plants:
energy adaptation in heating systems, galvanical plants, velocity adaptation of machines, magnetic power on jarring tables
- buildings:
adaptation of lightings, regulation of ventilation systems
