Application

The electrical heated reduction equipment is used, among other things, for the statical iron ore investigation according to ISO 4696, chapter 1 and 2, ISO 8371, ISO 7215, ISO 4695 etc..

Description of equipment

The reduction test apparatus consists according to the ISO-standards of pit furnace, retort, measuring and control station, process gas control unit and weighting equipment.

The reduction furnace is designed as vertical tube furnace. The retort is fit in the furnace and, via the hoisting device with handling winch, which is built-on the furnace, installed and lifted. In the bottom of the furnace is a temperature-resistant steel tube with approx. 30 mm Ø intended, which is closed on the end and has a sidewise, continuous closable opening. The furnace as well as the weighting equipment are built in a shock stable frame.

The heating modules consist of ceramic fibres with embedded heating coils. Inside of the useable space a ceramic tube is located for the protection of the heating. The heating is devided in 3 zones and works in conjunction with a programme / master controller in a proven cascade regulation. The temperature regulation in the heating space is done via micro-processor controlled temperature regulators with thermocouples. Additionally is, according to the regulations, for each heating zone an over-temperature safety circuit installed. The needed process gas control unit for CO, CO2, H2, N2 with pressure reducer, precision pressure controller, flowmeters etc. can be provided as wall bracket mounting and stand bracket mounting. The process gas is led through the inbuilt gas preheating into the reduction tube.

Scale

The scale is built on the frame of the furnace. On the upper side of the frame are two linear cradles mounted. With help of this linear cradles the scale can be moved to the side for the extraction of the reduction tube. Additionally is the weighting equipment protected against the convection or rather radiant heat of the furnace.

Display range (measuring range): 0.1 g – 34.00 kg display accuracy (0.1 – 3 kg): +/- 0.1 g

A rotary drum, according to ISO 4696-requirements, will be delivered completely ready for connection with power supply cable and plug for connection on 230 V 50 Hz.
