Purpose
The electrically heated pit furnace serves for the examination of the coke reactivity and resistance (CRI/CSR test) according to ISO/DIS 18894.
Description of the Plant
According to ISO/DIS 18894 requirements the reduction test apparatus consists of the pit furnace, the retort, the measuring and control station and the process gas control. The pit furnace is constructed as vertical tube furnace. The retort is hung into the furnace and inserted and taken out by means of the lifting device with rope winch which is mounted at the furnace. In the bottom of the furnace a temperature-resistant steel-tube with a diameter of approx. 30 mm is provided, at its end it is closed and on the side it has a continuously lockable opening.
The furnace is heated by heating modules. The heating modules consist of ceramic fibres with embedded heating coils. Within the usable chamber there is a ceramic tube to protect the heating. The heating is sub-divided into 3 zones and works with approved cascade regulation, in connection with a programme/master controller. Temperature regulation in the heating chamber is effected by microprocessor-controlled temperature regulators with thermocouples. In addition and according to the regulations an overtemperature safety circuit is built in for each heating zone.
The necessary process gas control for CO2 and N2 with pressure reducer, fine pressure regulator, flowmeters etc. can be provided for wall console assembly or for stand console assembly.
According to the requirements of ISO/DIS 18994 a tumbler drum is delivered, completely ready for connection, with power supply cable and plug for connection to 230 V 50 Hz.
