Furnace Description
At the front and at the back side the furnace has one door each which opens pneumatically to the top. It is sealed by a cord made of fibre ceramics and pressed to the furnace enclosure by its own weight. The pneumatic cylinder of the door is air-cooled.
The heating consists of wire heating coils which are arranged in radiators. The radiators are mounted in the sides in the air-conducting channels of the furnace. There are 4 hot gas ventilators in the ceiling of the furnace. By the hot gas ventilators the air in the air-conducting channel is warmed by the heating and laterally led to the charge. When the hot gas ventilators stop working in case of more than 100 °C they are cooled by 2 additional cooling air ventilators.
Two bogie hearths for alternate operation are provided for the furnace. The bogie hearths can be moved electrically on rails and are carried by wheel sets running in ball bearings. The charging of the bogie hearth is effected from the top, e. g.via a ceiling crane provided by the customer. The positions of the bogie hearth and the positions of the doors are inquired by means of a limit switch.
For each door side there are 2 cooling ventilators mounted onto the furnace for faster cooling down (blowing) of the hot charge in front of the furnace. The cooling ventilators are adjustable, they can be turned and are inclinable.
