Application

The pusher-type furnace plants, at temperatures till approx. 800 °C, are used for the thermical treatment of powdery chemicals and is desinged that an automatic slipping of the powdery chemicals through both pusher-type plants is done. Between the both pusher-type plants the product is still treated mechanically.

Description of plant

The pusher-type furnace plant is combined of 2 subsystems. The subsystems are linked over a handling system. Over this handling system the material exchange is done.

The furnace enclosure is constructed of a sectional frame structure and a stable steel sheet construction. The useable space is a gas-tight welded channel (muffle) of noncorrosive and heat-resistant steel. The heating of the muffle is done via electrical heating coils. These surround the muffle from all sites with a small distance. The heating coils are embeddded on the surface of the moulding of ceramic fibres, whereby an effective combination of heating and thermal insulation is reached.

Subsystem 1:

On the furnace enclosure is a gas-tight, water cooled cooling zone flanged. In this one the heated product is cooled down again. With a fan air is drawn against the slipping direction through cooling zone and furnace. The discharged air will be cleaned in a filter system which is connected in front of the fan.

The powdery product is filled in carrier shells, which are in pairs slipped through the plant. The slipping is effected with pneumatic cylinders. The carrier shells slide on steel rolls with sliding tubes through furnace and cooling zone.

After the cooling the carrier shells will be forwarded into the handling system. With this the carriers are separately picked up, and in a storage tank depleted and fitted on a return track. With this track the carriers are led back to the reloading.

Subsytem 2:

On the furnace enclosure is a gas-tight, water cooled cooling zone flanged. In this one the heated product is cooled down again.

The process in subsystem 2 works under 100% - hydrogen atmosphere (H2). Before start of production furnace and cooling zone will be devitalized with netrogen (N2). Furnace and cooling zone are, via purging sections at inlet and outlet, separated against the environment. An interruption of oxygen is avoided by the inertisation before production start and the evacuation of the purging sections after each loading and unloading event.

The powdery product is extracted with a conveyer of the storage tank and filled in the carrier shell. These are for subsystem 2 automatically tripled on top of each other stacked and inserted in the plant.

The slipping is managed by pneumatic cylinders. The carrier shells slip on steel rolls with plain bearings through furnace and cooling zone.

After the cooling the carrier shells are discharged, manually depleted and intercepted on a return track for supplying for the reloading.
