Description of the Plant
The furnace enclosure consists of a stable steel construction. The side walls are insulated according to their temperature and they are partly water-cooled. The outer wall temperature of the enclosure is approx. 60 to 65 °C.Heating is effected through U-shaped heating elements made of clustered molybdenum wires which are arranged on the side walls and in the centre of the usable chamber. The regulation of the heating power is effected by a variable transformer in connection with a high-current transformer with fixed transformation ratio. For this reason, no harmonic interferences or high-frequency interferences – as they use to appear with thyristorpower controllers for physical reasons – are produced. The cooling water station is located on a frame mount for bottomfixing. Cooling water supply is effected via a dirt filter, a main rapid action valve as well as via a water-meter to the different cooling circuits which are each equipped with manual adjusting valve, temperature display and flowmeter with visible floating element. The gas distribution station and the gas regulating station are also located on a frame mount for bottom fixing, with all the equipment necessary for N2 purging as well as with the reaction gases N2 and Ar. All gas and cooling water leads and equipment are made of stainless materials. The elevator hearth is equipped with a motor-driven chassis so that it can be driven into the charge or discharge position by motor, in moved down state under the furnace, on rails. The lifting device consists of 4 synchronously working spindle drives.
